End Of Another Season

The boxing season in Montrose ends on a high note with two of the youngest boxers scoring victories in the ring.
Jon Paul Bell, fighting at the 30Kg weight in his debut fight at the Granite City Boxing Show, held at the Skean Dhu Hotel in Dyce, impressed both the judges and crowd gaining a unanimous victory over three rounds against his Lochee opponent.
On the same bill, his fellow MBC boxer, Shaun McCabe, also impressed the judges, gaining a well deserved victory at the 56Kg weight, by a points decision over his more experienced opponent.

Both these results help cement the growing reputation of the up and coming young boxers developing their skills in Montrose and the local area.
Meanwhile, Kane Morphew, fighting at middleweight, continued to do his reputation no harm in the ring by winning a Silver medal at the Scottish Junior Championships held recently at the Time Capsule in Coatbridge.
We wish Kane continued success in his boxing career as he moves up to the Senior Division next season.
The club finishes its third season in the Traill Drive Gym still on the lookout for a more permanent home. They are at present in discussion with Angus Council to try and find new accommodation.

The NEW Session starts on Monday, August 2nd at 6pm.
Mondays for all members 6 – 8 pm
Wednesdays Boxers only – Preparation and Training for Events 6 – 8pm
Tuesdays – ( August initially ) Montrose Rugby Club
If we can find more coaches then we hope to increase the sessions throughout the week.
